As I read about the attack at Ft Hood by the Islamic Terrorist, I am amazed by the folks that equivocate on his faith. But, am I amazed? The truth that is thrown at us by these attacks is that people are willing to die for something they believe to be true.
This brings up the question. Are you willing to die intentionally for what you believe is true?

Weary of Handouts

I did some work in Ethiopia in the early 1990's and found the people to be wonderful. They are thankful and have an earnest outlook on life. It saddened me though to look at the poor conditions that so many of them lived in though. Whether it was a beggar outside of the church or the endemic malaria in so many.
I hope that eventually they will be weaned from the handouts and I hope that many in our country wean themselves from the handouts of our own governement.
This just shows that "work" is good. Thank you God that I can.

I guess I ought to explain Accidental worship.
It occurred to me the other day as we gathered at our local church that I was really hungry to worship God and hoping that I would accidentally worship.
Not something planned or controlled. But, something that would be an expression of what was really going on inside.
Then it occurred to me that a lot of what we do in life is accidental worship. Whatever we really care about gets expressed on the outside. The same way that DNA expresses proteins on the cell membrane the thoughts of our hearts and what we want gets expressed in our life.
Narcissism revealed
Just wondering if it is too narcissistic to publish one's thoughts in an open forum.
O well, I keep posting them on facebook. Why not do it in a format that makes it easier to read and produce...
